8ID8 is located near the River of No Return Wilderness Area on the Idaho/Montana Continental Divide.
On Aug. 31, 1805, the Lewis and Clark Expedition advanced up Tower Creek to see the "Pirimids"
and camped for the night on what is now a private airstrip owned by Kord Smith and Bill Bernt.
